I'm kind of insulted. Some of the albums I listen to weren't on that list, including the obscure Allison Macleod and Pell Mell's Interstate, which was probably their best album in my opinion. I'd make an indy poke, but indy jokes are only funny if people who actually know how to say it are the ones that say it.
And I don't care what is said, but I have to admit this: whoever Vanessa Carlton's drummer is a goddamn legend that adds to an already alluring songwriting.

Date: 2006-04-15 01:56 am (UTC)I probably should as well. I've been listening to too much Aquabats to not acknowledge them.

hahahahah!
reminds me of sam and max, but they would never be so crude.
not because it's against their nature, just the audience it's geared towards. children of america, you may very well be the future, but you have this day destroyed somthing great.
a generation weeps, and kindly reminds you that you're still kids and we can kick your ass.

Date: 2006-04-15 02:10 am (UTC)Somehow, I knew you'd be into eclectic, diverse stuff, but I'm really surprised by your inclusion of the Prodigy. Very interesting.

Date: 2006-04-15 02:17 am (UTC)I tend to keep music with me according to mood. I do a lot of walking in general, so the more valuable music tends to be the stuff that I can feel kinetic enough to keep running with. The Prodigy was a big group I listened to whenever I had to rush from campus to campus. I think the other big one was the soundtrack to an anime called "Initial D," which was full of driving music and had an odd ending video that included a guy with a bleached Sting hair and flower camouflage painted on him, rapping in engrish. Weird as hell, but some really good beats. I can't listen to new Prodigy, though, kind of like new REM and new U2.

Date: 2006-04-15 02:39 am (UTC)Now the Prodigy makes more sense. And the Engrish rap sounds very intriguing. Seeing people's album picks and discussing them is bringing many older bands to the fore that have crummy new albums.

Date: 2006-04-15 02:51 am (UTC)Burnside Project also is decent. I remember "Cue The Pulse To Begin" was used in "Queer As Folk." There's an oddity at how obscure some of the music in these shows really are but once you hear certain songs you'll realize that they're not as unknown as you originally thought, just potentially unmarketable in a global basis.

Date: 2006-04-15 11:49 am (UTC)but seeing as i've only actually bought one cd from a store in my life, my list would suck.
i'd rather just show you screen shots of my ipod playlists.
maybe later.
Re: you're all whores for attention
Date: 2006-04-15 01:08 pm (UTC)Like I said before: people who purchase music think their artist deserves it. Although these days I buy an album's worth of mp3s more than albums these days instead. Emusic > good.
