Episode 2 hurt. I mean, really hurt. People keep telling me Episode 1 was worse, but Episode 2 was a real personal blow. I'm sorry if you didn't see the movie, but I'm going to list spoilers without the cut option so you ALL will experience my pain.

I remember the first thing I did when I got out of the theater for Episode 2, was rail about how worthless the romance scenes between Anakin and Padme were. They could have had uses, but... but they were so lame and they went nowhere! If you removed those stupid scenes, then people wouldn't complain about length and still would have ended up with a decent movie. The only significant points in the romance subplot was when Anakin asks Jar-Jar if she still thinks of him and at the Colliseum when Padme finally admits her love for him anyway. Bah!

And then there was the abuse of the Force. Yoda fighting like something out of a Hong Kong movie which felt tacky. The fact that he gets waylaid by a column from Dooku when the first thing Yoda teaches Luke is that size does not matter with the Force. And why does Anakin lose his hand like Luke yet we get to feel nothing when he loses it? Why does it feel like all the drama of repeated history was sapped away into nothing?

Ugh, and Boba Fett. Boba Fett! Damn it, I loved Boba Fett most of all, but he became lame thanks to Episode 2! I was hoping for something more elaborate than him being a clone to an already obscure character with no established history. Ironically, he's one of the only people in the damn movie that actually speak a foreign language! The little ones in the Jedi Academy are the space age equivalent of the United Colors of Benetton.

I want foreign languages. I want built-up drama. I want a damn space opera that isn't sugar-coated with eye-candy or marketable characters; some interaction mingled with action that makes you think you really are in a galaxy far, far away and not in some expensive commercial full of poorly written dialogue and plot.

If Lucas is batting 0-2 so far in his prequel trilogy, then I still have this feeling not to bother with it, but people are continually asking me about it so I needed to vent. Bah. -_-

Yeah, I guess Lucas has got me either way. I'll *admit* the trailer seemed potentially nice and suggests we get to see Anakin become the evil and awe-inspiring Vader and at this point he can't make the prequel any lamer outside of a musical number where they all sing "We Are The World" (knock on wood).

Ugh, I guess if my friends rile me I'll go see it. Otherwise, I think I'll just wait for the DVD. -_-

I think one big problem is computer graphics. They need to screw the CGI and go back to the "Deathstar made of model ship parts glued to a table and the explosions are made by throwing firecrackers from a passing Jeep" school of thinking.

But yes, I'm going to see it anyway. And too much of Episode 2 was about Padme's boobs, if you ask me. They need to cut their budget to 1/4 of what it is now.
