Now with extra shpiel(to reflect life's busy ness)!

Haven't done too much of abstracted note. I'm serious. Someone contacted me from awhile back thinking that I'd have new tales to report after we last talked two weeks ago, and to be honest, there's nothing really significant that happened that I really feel needed to be said (that's right, what I'm about to say next is NOT the pick of the litter of my menial life. Turn back now while you have the chance).

Tried to find a job. Apparently, my near graduation, combined with 3 years of administrative experience has literally doused me with several people asking for me for part time work. Unfortunately, I have limited hours I can work with and (even worse) I can't drive. In the end, I get picky but it's because I have no choice. Typical.

Speaking of jobs, I ended up catching up with the weird guy. Turns out he owns a business where he buys cars cheap off of places like eBay, double checks on the quality, and then resells them for (surprise) higher prices. He was thinking of starting a branch in the New England area (he was actually from California) and thought I seemed like an honest enough person (I have no idea what he meant by it, but it explained why he asked if I went to church) and wanted me to do it as sort of a part-time gig. Problem? Once again, can't drive. It's making me tempted to get a license, though: I wouldn't mind a part time gig that forces me to travel a bit. What the hell, driving permit's only 10 bucks anyway.

Reworking on the manuscript has been a bit of a pain, but only because it's slow going. I don't want to push myself because I want the language to make up for content so it's a real quality force. Got up to page 15 with full work, more or less 29 pages. Not too bad, but I could be working myself into a full frenzy if I wasn't making this a hobby and not emphasizing class.

Ah, yes: class... Got my fair share of duties to look through. Took me until tonight to finally understand the concept of postcolonialism (not to be confused with "post-colonialism"). 2nd Wave Feminism involved reading a paper on "Radicalesbians" where they basically said that all men oppress women because the very sight of a man represents oppression against women. I shook my head and cried like a blamed innocent child and kept my mouth shut. 18th Century Sexuality taught me about Lord Rochester and his "tastes." "A Ramble in St. James Park?" Amazing. No other man could make a complaint about a woman he slept with sleeping with other men. At least Children's Lit. has been good to me: already have some idea on my semester's paper and how to approach it... I just don't like the idea that it's going to make me go to the research library in New York several times.

Oh, saw this thing on WNYE (hooray, PBS works!) with music videos from groups performing or based in New York. Found a few new groups I never thought of before: Burnside Project, Cornelius, My Favorite, Prosaics... definitely stuff to look into when I have the finance for CDs and the heart to support people that deserve the money. Definitely will catch up on it this Friday.

And on a side note, I noted one of my classes had three people in one small class that were left handed. Three people out of a 12 people class! I feel like part of a majority again.

Bah, it's not totally bad. Radicalesbians just weirded me out in particular because they believed that all men were bad. It was funny though because they also refered to them sometimes as "the man" like a blacksploitation movie.

This is only for that case though. There are other authors whom I think have a more validated reason for their desires and some of them don't have to demean all men in the process or at least have a justified reason that suggests reconciliation. In its defense, 2nd wave feminism is aggressive, but it reminds me of how history itself sometimes involved really radical people in order to stop the injustices.

yes, but you didn't even speak out against the feminazi approach. society has come a long way towards treating women as equals, and i think all this extremist stuff is only scaring it away.

If it makes you feel better, that paper was written 30 years ago, so I think it's kind of moot except around really scary women (which I guess I'd appreciate considering all the sleazy men I end up dealing with).
