zesty_pintoPanasonic released (or is releasing) a mirrorless DSLR. If Pentax ever goes that way with their bodies, I would be very ecstatic. Even though the tech’s way too new, the lack of mirror clack would make spontaneous photography so much easier to work with. If anything, it’s what most high-end point and shoots have going for them compared to the more professional contemporary.
I’m only mentioning this because I am curious as to the noise the K2000D creates. I would get one if the noise is minimal, as one of those with a few of the Limited pancakes would make for a fairly low-profile camera that would give me the spontaneous shooting that I would like. I could live without the other luxuries normally associated like a rough-and-tumble body and vibration reduction built-in, as the quiet associated with a camera that can shoot someone from a few feet away without disturbing them is when you can get to see the true nature of someone through a lens without any prep work. Any person who says otherwise (be they vets or not) can eat me.
Otherwise, I’d buy into the Panasonic label… if it didn’t require buying into a whole new lens format. Maybe when they invent a 4/3-micro 4/3 adapter. :P
