A Match.com survey

Okay, the truth is that I've had this one for at least two years or more; the entry photo I put in it was of when I was 18. 18! It was funny seeing all the stuff that got replaced and added. Then I did this survey.
Apparently, I am in the ultimate level of minorities here! I will copy-and-paste all fun facts as follows:
Who You Are
You have a dazzling personality
You're a natural leader. You're smart, insightful, and willing to fight for what you believe in. Your job isn't just something you do to make money. Making a real contribution at work or in organizations you're involved in is key to being a "success" in life. In fact, at times this part of your life has pushed aside romance and fun and made you dangerously close to being a "workaholic." But you're not someone who settles; you want it all! You have a vision for the future and always are searching to find love and a sense of "balance" in your life.
What's dating all about to you?
Finding a loving relationship is a mission for you. You have clear goals and even a timeline in mind. Falling in love is an especially magical experience. You're suddenly free from the rules and thinking that guide your life. You usually keep your feelings and life under control. But remember, the bigger the dam, the bigger the flood when it breaks!
You face two major challenges in finding the love of your life. First, because your mind is so busy making sure you say and do the right things on dates, it's hard for your deeper and caring self to come through. It feels risky to share this part of yourself but most women need this emotional connection. Second, although having a vision of what you want can be helpful, the risk is that your high standards and rush to find the perfect woman can get in the way of loving a real-life imperfect woman.
Your personality profile is similar to a number of men your age. Looking at over 10,000 men who have taken the test, about 9% (or 1 in 11 men) have very similar beliefs, values, and habits. Of course, the way these qualities are expressed in you is what makes you so unique. I am the .0909 proportion!!
Notice that 40% of women are generally attracted to your personality type. 2% say they are VERY attracted. With the millions of people on Match.com, that translates into lots of potential matches.
Riiiiight. 2% of 10,000 is like, what, 200? Spread that across the world like cheese on a saltine and you have 50 per continent (not including Antarctica since since there's only penguins there), or 1 per 5,000 square miles, including the married ones! LOL
Women with the exact type of personality you prefer are rare gems. Looking at over 10,000 women who have taken this test, only 16% (or 1 in 6 women) have the exact combination of similarities and contrasts in personality you find extremely appealing.
Okay, so make that 16% of the 200, that's about 32 in the world that are my ideal and would love me back. Spread into each continent some and that's about 5-6 per land mass. The numbers get hilariously smaller and smaller. Good thing I like to travel.
Okay, I'll be nice and consider that this survey was based around a 1 billion population consensus, to compensate for anyone that is single and female. 16% converted into proportional data converted to .16 as well as 2%, .02 respectively. .02 * .16= .0032 Now when using this multiple along a value of 10^9, you get a total of 3,200,000 as an estimate. So, it's not *too* bad, but considering this is a spread out along a geographic map of a couple million miles and involves a sifting of the 3 billion women around the world, I reiterate: it's a good thing I like to travel! Guess in my case, that ideal woman isn't even one in a million.
Don't mind me, I'll be laughing my ass off somewhere in a corner. If you want a copy of it, just comment me your email address and I'll send it over. This is just TOO rich...!

Date: 2003-11-08 04:27 pm (UTC)Personally, I don't get why being tall is a bad thing for a woman; then again, I think being at my height tends to make people kind of steer away from me for fear that I will tear at their necks like Richard Kiel from his Bond days.
