One Man's Trash is Another Man's IR

The reason I have two K20Ds is because I screwed up my first model's sensor.
See, for the longest, I found the best way to clean my sensor was to use tape. It did do its just effectively, but then I started to see this blue stuff pull off with the tape.
Before you knew it, I ruined the coating of my sensor. It still operated all right, but the color cast was off for everything.
Well! Just as you know it, I also screwed up by burning out my bracket flash during the Coney Island talent show, so I had to buy a new one. My failure to snipe down another bracket on eBay led me to buy one from a dealer for a decent price.
I found one on Cameta for a decent enough price that included an IR head. I like the 622 heads a lot, so I got it.
I tested out the flash tonight and it seems to be okay. All the parts work with my old flash's parts. I also tested the IR head and found that I had no results, so I decided to research IR photography.
It turns out that all cameras have an IR filter put in to deflect the IR from getting in the way of the image.
It also turns out that this filter is put right in front of the sensor.
The hamster wheel in my head started moving and I pulled out my first K20D, set up the IR head and...
Voila.
Amazing how one error after another leads to a beautiful new surprise, eh?
I'm going to consider using this combo for a concert on Friday. I'm hoping the results will look decent.
