Thistle is yummy, originally uploaded by zesty-pinto.

Ahhh, the weekend. How I miss thee already. My back is sore and I blame it on my lousy sleep last night.

Photography
I can quickdraw/shoot in MANUAL. I’m not good at it, but I’ve been doing target practice lately and have been getting results that aren’t great, but are better than I could imagine. My finest moment was with a bird that just jetted off.

I’ve been debating about getting a Tamron 200-500mm I want one because the range is excellent and it’s known to be a good lens, but the most modern one isn’t made for Pentax, much to my annoyance. The older versions are much heavier and consequently, much easier to get since they use Adaptall systems, which let them, as the name suggests, be used on all mounts. The newer version is almost 2 speeds faster, half the weight, and potentially has more contrast. Technically, I might have to save up for the Sigma 50-500mm instead, which annoys me since a two pound lens is a lot easier for me to work with.

I’m going to consider investing in some teleconverters in the future as well. The bird photos made me realize that I really am pushing the border here with some of my shots. I can live with one speed slower if it means I get the shot without it going grainy. This also helps if I remember not to put my ISO to 800 and use the exposure at 100%.

The Vivitar 28mm is GREAT. I love it! It needs a hood, but I love it love it LOVE IT! Dark group shots can now be done!

Cinema
“Step Brothers” was everything you’d expect from Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly acting like manchildren. It was humorous, a little cute, but also over-the-top at points, much to my annoyance. It’s overall funny, but would I see it again? Ehhh, not really.

If my back doesn’t drive me nuts, I’m going to see the Dark Knight.

I was wondering how that movie was--thanks for filling me in. I love whatshisface from Tim and Eric, I think he's the funniest guy on there. Kudos to Ferrel for picking up new talent.

Honestly: if you really like John C. Reilly, then you should check out The Promotion since he takes a very subtle comedy and makes it work without pushing the OMGIMCRAZY sort of attitude. Some people think it's too subtle, but I personally think it makes the movie strangely belivable. Plus, I never imagined him donning a light Canuck accent.
