I saw this on Yelp and it looked interesting, but not interesting enough for me to even consider it. Besides, flights tend to give me headaches.

In-Flight kicks off hiring push, referrals can earn up to $500
------------------------------ ------------------------------ --------------------
October 29, 2007

In-Flight Service is looking for internal and external applicants to fill a large number of flight attendant positions that will become available next year. Employees can earn as much as $500 for referring successful applicants: $250 after the new employee's 90-day and six-month service anniversaries. This is the first time in seven years IFS has hired on a large scale for candidates without special language skills. IFS already has contacted furloughed flight attendants on its recall list to offer them first priority for these openings. To help with external recruiting, IFS has created an informational Web site for potential applicants with a link to delta.com. A special Web-based application also has been created for current employees who want to bid for the positions. Current employees who bid on the position through eBid will be directed to this application instead.

Oh, yeah, the cheap employee flights are all about seniority. I've heard many stories about airline employees getting bumped from a flight after they've checked in for it because coworkers with more seniority showed up. Flights to certain vacation destinations are near impossible to get on for people with no seniority.

Unfortunately, my husband was a contractor and not an official airline employee, so no cheap flights for us.

Pft. Talk about teh suck. Now would be a good time for him to get back into it, but I imagine he's found something much more lucrative now, now that he's got a house with a yard and potential baby rabbits in the yard.

He actually got out of it just a couple months before 9/11. The company he contracted with got bought out (and subsequently run into the ground), and he got away from the airline industry.

Heh, speaking of rabbits, the circle of life came full circle yesterday when we had to dispose of a headless rabbit in our front yard. We're thinking it was a cat and that one of our neighbors got a bunny head trophy on their doorstep.
