It's Like Working 7 Days a Week
Aug. 18th, 2019 11:37 pmThe vitamin D is giving me more energy than I ever expected. I'm usually exhausted, but the vitamin D is giving me an alertness I haven't felt in awhile. It doesn't change the fact though that when I'm tired, I am really tired, but it really explains why I was chronically tired through my 20s. My metabolism is even faster than before despite all of this.
The wedding stuff... let me tell you about the wedding stuff.
The Wedding Stuff
Saturday was yet another 9am morning where I'm up early so trying my hardest to get some bells clear coated and got a couple of them bubbled in the process. God damn it.
Sanded down three of them after the fact. On the bright side, I'm getting used to the process. The new coat resembles the mottled metallic work that you would expect gold to resemble so you could say I'm even doing better than expected.
Then there was the "how do we not spend 60 dollars on music for the dance list" which meant several days of trying to figure out how to hack Apple Music. Long story short: no.
Between this, I used some sandpaper I kept in storage for a decade just to clean up the finish.
Between this, I set up drying racks with dipsticks.
Between this, I needed more dipsticks as a result. Sigh.
Between this, I learned not to overdo the coat on paint. SIGH.
Between this, we went on the hunt for water for the gift bags for the guests. Oh, but not just any water. You see, because this is a destination wedding, we went all over the place for Vermont Pure water; this one brand distro'd around here but also apparently not sold in many places for some reason (one reason may be because Nestle also bought them; Nestle pure, Vermont pure). This involved many liquor store visits and ended up in a place close to where we originally lived.
Between this, we also got chocolate. And bags for the gift bags. Local stuff all over.
I have mustard seeds steeped in Heady Topper. No time to finish it though. Why?
Gardening
So many beans and tomatoes. Yes! Tomatoes!!
Unfortunately, not enough to really make anything great. I did can beans, anticipating 5 jars.
I got 7!
And then I overcooked them by 10 minutes. Sigh. So much for having enough to offer the guests.
Not much time remaining to get more canned, we are on the monthly countdown and next week we're going to NJ. I was hoping to get one last jam with the late August raspberries. No time through. So little time.
Cooking
Need to make lunch.
Need to make breakfast sandwiches, which we ran out of.
Additional Things
I finished the paint coats for the bells. At this point, the only thing we need to do is apply clear coat. If I wake up early enough tomorrow, then the bells are done and over with.
The bags have all the components. All we need are some stencil designs for the bags and then we fill them with water, pretzels, syrup, some granola, and chocolate. I need to fill in the granola into bags too.
The music is all on this PC laptop. We need to find a karaoke app that works with the MS store too.
After the many things we needed to do and accomplished (made 18 sandwiches and a big pile of stir fry for lunch, also cleared most of the kitchen dishes), I think it's safe to say that this week has been busy as hell.
To think that we are treated for our hard work... by going to work and then getting the second job taken care of. Sigh.
When do I get time off?
