The work never stops.
Aug. 16th, 2019 03:54 pmA bell I clear coated has bubbles on it, meaning someone's getting the dremel and sanding it down and trying again. Sanded it out and repainted. Michelle said it looks fine.
Michelle's sister was complaining about our wedding colors and wanted to see our wedding playlist.
Heady Topper is impossible to find like it's 2015 all of a sudden again.
All this and more today!
Bells!Another Wedding Update
The bells that are gold painted have some problems that come when you apply a cricut adhesive against them. To make matters worse, the clear coat problem I mentioned. I should probably look into getting a fine grain sandpaper, though I think that's more for car-grade paint.
I spent last night pulling music into lists. I then googled Billboard's top 100 lists for this and last year in an attempt to pull in whatever popular music is out there (for dance because a lot of the Billboard generic hot lists are a lot of music that's not very good for weddings).
By doing this, I came to several conclusions:
1. Not having my original MP3 collection is pissing me off
1a. I'm going to get my CD collection the next time I get to NJ and then I'm shelving all of my music into a backup case ASAP.
2. It was at least a few hundred dollars worth of music, which I know because Amazon Music has done a great job showing me that just while finding pieces to fill in holes in the music list.
3. What MP3s I do have are lifted from some travel CDs I burned for the Subaru ages ago. It's more fast songs than slow stuff. This makes sense as I tend to travel with whatever keeps me moving, not so much whatever moves me.
4. I thought a lot of the Portuguese music Michelle wanted me to play was really ethnic stuff. It turns out it's already fairly modern.
5. I understand how to use the Bandcamp filters a little better. I found more stuff but also already spent almost a hundred dollars on music. This is going to be a 200 dollar venture, I can tell.
Michelle's sister is giving her an attitude over the phone about her wedding colors because she wanted to wear something that fit with the event. I'm starting to wonder why the only person not being a bridezilla is the bride.
Weekend
The weekend had us not doing enough because I spent most of the time getting ourselves out of hangovers from staying up late watching OITNB. At least we're done.
Thursday
Thursday is Rifftrax! A night out to ourselves without any obligations!
Edit: It was a fun time. Not a lot of people and it included a short that featured telephone gremlins that should have been a Mega Man boss.
Music
My latest find includes a band named Boca Doce. They're a Portuguese hardcore band that does mostly punk covers of popular 90's Portuguese songs.
We spent last night seeing if Apple Music can make up for the lack of popular songs for the wedding list. It can. We're saving 60 bucks in songs from that alone, whew.
Work
Has been keeping me busy but as you can tell things have finally started to calm down. Which is appropo because I still have more wedding stuff to handle. At least the second job is smooth sailing.
Heady Topper mustard this weekend. Then painting the last of the bells/adding coats to incomplete paint jobs. Then stencils. Then clear coats.
Next week might be raspberries for jam. I need to pick the crops in the garden, sigh.
The work never stops.
