Today's agenda: tease Michelle with the article about one lady's Trump-themed wedding and how I'm changing our theme.

Tomorrow's agenda: making a car comfy to sleep in.

The cherry jam continues to mock me. The light pink-red luster of its processed flesh is starting to darken into a duller tone. I put it in our ottoman and hopefully it will be cool enough to make sure it will retain some color as we push through the worst of summer.

I found my stash of sour cherries from two years back. Okay, I only need one pint of cherries then this is good.

This weekend Michelle is going to a dress fitting.

I spent our last weekend spending more like a spendthrift and not feeling guilty about it. Now that the credit card has been curbed of its awfulness, I can spend a bit more freely on the wedding things without feeling (as) guilty.

I have this feeling I'm setting myself up into a financial downward spiral, but for now I just want to feel good having breathing room.

In other news, Michelle's parents planned a surprise barbecue in honor of the wedding and asked if my parents can attend. I got a response from my parents that they can't because my dad has severe backlog from seminars. My mom wondered if it would be okay if it was just her and I think she's going to bring something because she asked if there's anything they like.

No game todayyesterday, so it's a break for us. I only did half my typical laundry load, so will do the other half and make some... things, I guess. The freezer is starting to empty out. That's a good thing, I've been squirreling things away for years because I'm like that.

Update
I made things! I wanted to learn to try out some new things, so started with a Chinese steamed egg.

Also made a batch of salsa, a stir fry of zucchini with some tomatoes, green onions, and spinach (basically whatever was left in the fridge); toasted a fried fish fillet and some chicken tenders garnished with tonkatsu sauce; julienned a mix of mustard greens and arugula; some dumplings with a garnish of chili oil, green onions, and soy; and made a fresh batch of rice.

I haven't made a meal with several courses in awhile and was happy with the results, especially the steamed egg which I've been wanting to do in awhile but just wasn't sure if I could do it right. Michelle loved it and felt happy to have a meal where we have many small side dishes like this while I was glad to clear the fridge out of anything perishable. I'm especially glad she liked the stir fry though because I'm never very confident with vegetarian dishes.

After that, did some cleaning of the kitchen just so we have less to worry about while we're out this weekend and this morning I sent out the trash so we're not blessed with fruit flies.

Really wanted to do the laundry, but I'm sure you're aware that the weather last night was awful for the Northeast. Oh well.

We're already prepped and packed for the trip to NJ. I packed the salsa even though there's not that much because I guess it's the best I can do for a party. My bag is too full for its own good since I'm sure Michelle's parents will want me to take photos.

Okay, back to work!
