Apr. 30th, 2026 01:53 pmMoving day tomorrow. Ho boy.
While we cleared a lot of stuff, there's a lot of other things that remain unpacked. Right now, we're at a point where the place looks like we were robbed but they didn't have enough time to grab everything. I'd say that's pretty good, but good enough? I dunno. Biggest defining feature has been moving furniture and getting sound panels off these walls. I'm going to need to putty and sand and paint them when the time comes.
Finally got a check in with a new primary and the dude is the chillest guy I ever had. I'm shocked, he tried to keep things as low pressure as possible with me, even more than in VT where I feel like half of it was them just being kinda lazy.
Got a blood test and it confirmed a lot of things: specifically, that I'm backsliding back to unhealth.
Okay, upping my bike time. Before I did a distance thing (10km) followed by a 5 minute routine where I'm standing which usually adds up to 28 minutes, but I think a hard-defined 30 minute effort is in order, so been doing that. Also trying to cut on the amount of food I'm eating (less in, more out).
I think I've hit a solid point where my weight is lowering though, I just need to keep it lowering. Having a good primary is helping a shitton, it's like I feel my body want to retain every ounce from the cortisol spikes I got from my last doctor.
We also got a proper blood monitor. I'm reaching into level 2 hypertension which is not a good sign. Doctor at least confirmed I'm okay with taking things like electrolytes, which is a great relief for those morning dehydration headaches I've been getting, but I know I can get these numbers down (plus I want to go down a pant size and take care of this belly I'm gaining).
Also getting cramps in places, so that means my muscle routine is hitting the spots I've been neglecting, that's good (I usually do curls and punch in the air and some planks).
Weekend had us at the in-laws where they celebrated two birthdays. We did a great journey around Jersey looking for two bakeries that I saw really good things about (they lived up to the hype) followed by two Korean restaurants because they wanted it. Biggest shocker was seeing Michelle's mom like kimchi fried rice. Like this is a lady that does not like spicy things, so I had to double check with her if she meant it but no, she wanted the leftovers!!
Just came back from a haircut. Really hoping we get the proper keys and everything for the new place too.
Oh! Got gifts for Michelle too; she wanted that Moflin thing and I have it in storage waiting to be gifted. Also bought a license for DxO PureRaw. Been testing it and not been too impressed, but I do see results from it, so maybe it'll work for her. Fingers crossed.
Also still working on images from Conowingo. We hit the Bronx Zoo again this weekend, so my card's going to get more full while I'm sitting on it like this but I want to be sure about what I got since this is the first real attempt birding with the big Sigma and I'm finding a lot of shots that are close to what I wanted.
I've received some contact from my old D&D group as well. One of them told me one of the players is taking a break from gaming to go into foster parenting. They also told me how the group still reminisce about the game I ran. Honestly I told them I thought it was fine (It was one of those campaigns where I had a story and I wanted to build from it but also honestly improv'd things based on what the players were thinking) but apparently he's insistent it was like one of the best games they ever took part in. It's damn right flattering, barely even now how to react about it.
Maybe I should get back into building a new campaign? I have some free time. Err, I will once all *gestures everywhere* calms down, but food for thought.
Overall, a lot less stress in my life these days, even my job is giving me less responsibilities (I'd normally worry about that but I think they know that I haven't had a lot of time to focus on goals) and it's making me feel more at ease and also reduce my chances of stress eating.
Okay, back to work!
