I hate being jealous of my wife but this photo is so damn good.



Like everything about it feels surreal; it looks painted because of the statues created to resemble Van Gogh art mingled in real life images that are out of focus with the warm colors mingling well and it adds to the compatibility of the Rat just being there. I can't get over how natural this feels. Ugh, I feel like such a poser compared to her lol

TBF she actually took formal classes versus me doing the most "ape trying to operate a forklift" kind of meandering I do, so...

What's stopping you from pursuing your education in photography?

Formal education? Oh, having a job and figuring I can learn things from youtube, books, and trying to figure out how to reverse engineer people's photos. I'm also very cheap when it comes to classes (otherwise I'd be sinking time in endless writers workshops instead of DIYing it by learning to post on Bluesky).

It's like they say, "what do you call someone who graduates at the bottom of medschool? A doctor."

All to say you definitely aren't necesarily doomed if you go the self taught route.

I get too exacting when I write, to the point where it stresses me out. The only time it doesn't is when I write silly things to be a goof and even then it can be a bit much.

That and no one reads my shit lol

I'm serious, I had like bunches of works but most people don't like to read them so I'm not the biggest fan of all that stress for nothing.

Ohhhhh yeah I could see why this would be a problem, it's easy to fall into perfectionism that way which just makes the entire thing no longer fun or interesting to do, even when you're trying to loosen up.

I mean I was combing through your writing tag for fun once. So, I mean, I could continue to be nobody if you posted stuff here (and yes I still owe you that review of your previous photo dump).

Ngl I am shocked someone even did go through the writing tag. A lot of it is really old at this point. I suppose I could look around and put up some workshop drafts from like 8 years ago if you're really into these.
