Jan. 15th, 2020 12:40 pmLooking through Twitter and weeding through the garbage fire that CNN created between Sanders and Warren and just shaking my head thinking this is why we can't have nice things.
I hate that a "Good Fight" episode on metoo has a parable about what happens when feminism loses its large scale trajectory for the sake of short-minded benefit and that it applies to the DNC. I also think a Biden victory is the best way to start on the worst foot, so I just want whoever's in this horse race to stop being petty.
Anyway, that's my gripe.
Can I tell you that ever since late 2019 I now feel an omnipresent gag reflex? I've been feeling it for awhile. Bonus though; my stomach shrunk a lot.
I did some voiceover auditions and got positive remarks. I wanted to try all sorts of crazy ranges, so went for an infomercial voice, an awkward creepy guy, some wild advertising guy, an oily creepy charismatic guy, and a werewolf pirate. Yes, I wanted all angles. The response?
"Quality shit. Seriously"
That's the best I could hope for, and for something I didn't even practice into, it's a happy surprise for a week where I can't seem to get a good night of sleep.
I baked for the first time in months; cupcakes, easy mix stuff that we got on clearance. It reminded me why I enjoyed doing this. It also gave me a ton of cupcakes and I don't know what to do with all of them. Michelle promised me she'll eat all of them. Color me skeptical, but challenge accepted.
In brighter news, I realized that I can probably springform a decent layer cake without too much trouble. Considering this for future baking if I get back into the knack.

Date: 2020-01-19 05:04 pm (UTC)CNN is going with the entertainment-as-news format now, I think. I don't watch it too much, but when I do it seems ridiculous. It wouldn't surprise me if they left that mic hot on purpose just to gin this up for ratings.
"Quality shit. Seriously"
So this is... a good comment? Being text, I can read it two ways: "That is quality shit. Awesome job!" or "That is quality shit. Awful." I sure hope it's the first one! :)
