The gaming group without a fourth was actually smoother than usual. The missing fourth guy was often AFK so it made things move a little quicker.

Humorously enough, despite my own gripes about their politics, the people on it have their limits. Apparently, they had a previous player who turned out to be worse than them, basically one of those edgy vape bros. He was so bad that they removed him completely from their Discord, just wiped all evidence he even existed because he was that bad.

This came up because we were discussing if they found a fourth player worth adding. The vetting process is slipshod, and personalities can vary wildly. I understand, given how the geek fanbase has many spectra.

So with that said, if any of you are interested in playing on Thursdays with me with a group of guys who are a bit deep into the gaming thing (read: they are comfortable with female players but probably will pull a casual SJW remark or some crap so you have to have thick enough skin to tolerate it), then I can see about adding you. Aside from that, they're entertaining and generally accepting as long as you don't grief their lifestyle, which I'm sure they'll also do in turn.

I made half my monthly credit payment a week ago and yesterday I pushed the rest. 1.5k baby! One more payment, just one more payment! I'm tempted to directly push every second job paycheck into it every time I get one just to make it quicker and more dramatically wonderful. Michelle is excited too since this means I handle the rent once June is over. Personally, I can't wait.

I'm not in your local area, obviously, but... I would not want to spend time with a group of guys who pull SJW remarks. All the nerdy women I know feel similarly. I can't imagine why anyone would want to regularly hang out with people who see them as lesser. (There are lots of intelligent and mature guys in my life who actively support gender equality, which is as it should be. We have loads of discussions and debates about Star Wars, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, etc.)

I don't blame you and I honestly just don't want to be rude to these folks. I think in their case they have this disconnect between women who game and women who talk about feminism in gaming as they also have friends who are women who game... I think. It was mentioned before when the fourth player was stepping out and he mentioned someone to act as a fill-in.

I've made a habit to try to redirect the conversation the moment it goes into that crap, and thankfully I haven't seen it much to need to do that.

One correction I would throw in though: it's via Discord, so it's online. I know you're on the other side of the world too, so I imagine that would also make it also equally unpleasant if not more, ha!

Thanks, we'll see how it goes, but hoping it keeps a strong downward trajectory at least. Certainly justifies all the toilet scrubbing I do on the side!
