The Longest Update

I know, I know, I've been keeping up with reading your posts but about my own life? I've been too tired to really say anything at home. My weekends have been busy. I finally got over the whole gaming thing for a bit but now I'm always tired.
I've changed my sleep schedule recently. We sleep closer to 10, wake up around 7. I wake up feeling tired for some reason, always tired. Since I tend to be more glib when I'm tired, maybe that's a good thing? I tend to be less anxious when I'm tired.
I can say a few other things happened as well. For example, my 8 year old glasses have finally pitted out enough to a point where it snapped. A piece of black duct tape is holding the arm together. I ordered a new pair after a trip to the optometrist (who was impressed that an 8 year old pair of glasses is still doing its job so well). I have another pair that is in flawless condition, but the glass in it is way too strong for me and the frame's a bit tight for my giant head. Meeting my parents is probably going to start up a comment, which I'm not going to enjoy since I'm pretty comfortable where I am, but seeing me in broken glasses is going to make them think that it's anything but that case for me.
I'm still using lotion and my face is not as insane with flaking now at least. Dandruff is controlled again too. I'm sure I still look like a piece of work, though. My fingers are still pretty bad though.
Freezer is emptier and I couldn't be happier. I felt awkward having so much food in there and now it's a little more controlled. If the freezer empties out enough, I might even justify getting a turkey breast! I might actually be able to make ice cream again!!
Found a mound of what I thought was frozen dough in there too and realized it was actually deshelled crabmeat. I made fried rice out of it.
Oh, holy shit: the greatest thing happened too. One of the asian markets around here? Now they're normally carrying rice noodles. Fresh rice noodles were almost impossible for me to find normally even in Boston so this was a treat. I took advantage of it last week by making drunken noodles and this week I made chow ho fun. The quality of living here has taken a serious improvement.
We hiked a bit earlier.
I feel like my stomach is shrinking which is good because I feel really fat.
We're "rum running" for Michelle's brother, who asked for a ton of Heady Topper. We visited the new Alchemist Brewery site in the touristy part of Stowe and it lived up to it as we were clearly the worst-dressed people in the entire place. It was mostly to look around, but we came back earlier this week and I was happy to say that the weekday is a lot more laid back and dressed more dirtbaggy like us. Some people even brought their kids!
Four cases of alcohol are in the car. Michelle said that it's probably for his friends, which I hope is the case because I remember he said he didn't like how bitter it was. I think she's right because he ordered one pack more than usual for the only non-IPA that the brewery has.
We also got Hodad, which is now canned and is the smartest and greatest thing Fiddlehead Brewery could do.
If you're not familiar with it, Hodad is a chocolate lager with coconut in it. I don't drink it but I know everyone who's had it loves the stuff. Having it canned was a smart idea on their part.
Podcasts
I listened to "The Sauce," a three part podcast series by The Onion, Gimlet, and McDonald's and it's surprisingly entertaining.
Oh, I also did my session last week and I swear I barely remember most of what happened because lactose intolerance was killing me between the sessions. Still had fun, just wish I could say more.
I caught up on "After These Messages" and they read an email I sent them. They even saved it for last. They even made a quick mention of it in their episode description! When we heard it, we were so giddy about it we barely got any sleep afterwards.
WTF
One thing I will add about my absent mindedness.
Last weekend, Michelle went to electrolysis so we'd be presentable to visit her family (I also got a haircut) and while I was waiting around in some of THE BEST WEATHER EVER, I kept hearing this unique bird call.
And then I realized that it was this brilliant red cardinal just hanging out on a branch in plain view, playing this bird call that was very obviously uniquely his own (the more colorful cardinals are male).
I brought my camera for this occasion. Trying not to freak out the beautiful bird, I hone my eyes on the bird while I scramble for the bag, pulling it up front. The bird doesn't react. I open the zipper, pull out the camera, switch to a telephoto, aim and
NO CARD FOUND.
Sigh.
Food
I got into eating mandarinquats. God help me for my new expensive addiction.
And with that, I'll end it here.
It's hard to make a poll when you're really busy, especially the "choose your adventure" ones where you're mapping out the org chart for it. The last one I did in fact even had me make an outline to post out before I pasted it all together.
I'll see if I can think of any good ideas as it comes along. I was hoping there'd be other people posting stuff though, to be honest.
Given how much you're reading by now, by the way, I'm just glad that I have DW to vent. The Garbage Site has been continuing to find new faults, and Twitter is still a great news source but is also not where I would like to talk about real life.
I might have spare time this weekend, so maybe I'll post more. Hopefully? Got to make my report and then get ready to go do our 6 hour trip.
