Saw "Skycaptain and the World of Tomorrow" and wasn't really impressed. I understood how it was intentionally designed like the serials of the times that it attempted to re-create, but it did it so well that it felt like I was watching a string of serials attempted to be strung together, and I think that was what troubled me a lot about it. Plus, they really overdid Gynneth Paltrow's role, where she switches between a confident "Lois Lane"-ish reporter, to an easily frightened girl of a woman that states the obvious regardless of what scene they walk into. Nice idea to poke at something they did then, but very tiring when it's done in every scene.
This week I actually had fun. Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of work done in the process. There's a musical I'm working on for a creative writing course; I'll probably post it when I finish the first act and clean up a few pieces here and there, but my professor already hates it since it involves copyrighted material, which was fine by me to begin with since I never planned on selling this script, but probably sending a copy to the band as my own little piece of fanboy homage towards them.
