Yesterday, I found one of my cories caught in the mesh of the moss wall. I released the dude, noted severe trauma and damage, applied melafix, and then went to bed. Tonight, he's gone. I found his corpse hidden under the debris that collects by the bubble wand. Damn it, he was one of my oldest tank buddies, too. I'd consider getting the pair a new buddy but it's hard to need scavengers when half your tank is bottom feeders. Damn it!
Remolded the fence and applied the suction again. I should have kept the stupid thing closed with something like wire instead of by overlapping corners. Then it wouldn't have been warped enough to lose its grip and let fish get in.
Poor cory. He will be missed for his cute little dolphin gray body of rubberyness and his shuffly flaps as he hung out with the cory crew. I don't know, maybe if I find juliis again I'll consider it, but it's tough luck losing a reliable fish. :(
