It's been over a month! Man, I can't believe I can't even do these once a month anymore, what the hell?

There's a lot of things going on here and there in life but it's also honestly a lot more of the same. Work's been intensive as there've been some structural changes at NIH while IEEE has me trying to adapt to new tasks and failing miserably. Yay, failure! People are nice about it though at least.

Weekend trips included two different coal mines in PA, the Philly Zoo, visiting NYC during Pokemon Go Fest (unintentionally), tackling a peach windfall that came from a really good (perhaps too good) CSA, working on gunpla, a minor crisis with a freezer that was left open all day, and planning trips. Oh, and walks where I thought I could handle the heat and failing miserably each time.

Summer's been too hot to really think of anything and I think that also really held me back here. Last week was the first really bearable summertime in awhile.

I have photos. In fact, while I was at the Philly Zoo I realized I filled out the card which feels impossible because it's 64 gigs. The photo process has gotten easier. As much as I hate AI (and I really hate AI and am aware of what will come once people are familiar enough with it to allow "enshittification"), the intelligence of the selection tools has gotten a lot better for graphics tools. There's not much else I feel confident about it and I'm saying this as someone whose job is to try to find more uses for it in my org. Ugh. Anyway, the photos were easier to edit than ever and Capture One is amazing and anything that allows me to say "you don't need Adobe for this" makes me feel better.

Can you believe I used cleanup tools for this? That glass was dirty as hell. I still know how to use the Adobe stuff
(SIGH I KNOW I SAID I DON'T WANT TO USE IT)

Anyway, cleaned up my old portfolios as a result too. A lot of it just doesn't draw me like it should and there's a fair share of redundancies as well. I know why I put them up initially but I just don't think a lot of people will understand or appreciate it for the same way I do. That said, I probably should put some of the zoo shots into my portfolio (not like people look through it though).

Aside from that, more work. I know I said that, I'm emphasizing this because I'm procrastinating from another project that refuses to be complete. It's a mess, it's big, and I've been burning through what my company called "summer hours" just to get it somewhat shipshape and it's also backlogging everything else in the process. Ugh.

Anyway, that's enough procrastinating. I might backtrack through some of your posts if I can make time. I barely even have time to keep up with my exercises for this sake. Sigh.
