Nov. 13th, 2023 10:23 amI... haven't had as much to write about lately. Or maybe I'm just kind of mentally blasted, I dunno.
I have a cold. Well, Michelle has a cold which means I have a cold too because my sleep has still been sporadic and it screwed with my immune system. 10 days of COVID and now a week of a cold. Fantastic, huh?
Dave the Diver came out for Switch and I've been pretty active on that, enjoying a game that is part survival platformer/part business management game with some really fun pixel art. Between that, some breaks with playing Zomboid where I am now at a point where my 2x zombie pop world can now start being cleaned out. I have a fair portion of one population cleared outside of the town center which is insanely dense, I think a fifth of Louisville is cleared, and I'm now trying to clear the highway through Muldraugh which is also pretty dense.
I have been doing ringfit more consistently and my weight refuses to go down despite a cold and a migraine that have been keeping my diet down. SIGH. I also got some 15 kg grippers since the 25s I have are still too much for me to clench with two fingers.
I felt really proud btw when I realized how easy it's been getting to push those grippers (I can almost do 100 in a set) but then found out the healthy grip range for a male adult is 45-50kg, made more hilariously belittled by the fact that you're supposed to need a good grip strength for pullups which have been my bane for awhile but also means I need to up myself to 100kg to make that even feasible and I can't reduce it because I can't lose weight!
Aside from that, finally been eating healthier again (again, NO weight loss!). I missed salads and had some and then it got colder and I made soups which I figured might be more helpful for Michelle who has a bad throat problem. I might be retaining a LOT of liquid.
We got a fancy humidifier with a sensor and it's doing something but not enough to stop me waking up with a dehydrated throat but it's doing something so it's not a total loss.
I saw negotiations finally come with the actors guild strikes and I think it was due since there's not a lot to watch on TV these days which I think means they're getting desperate. Good.
Also been hunting through Sierra Trading Post which I have been relying on for rando keto-friendly (aka low carb) foods and finding Peloton stuff and other rando things. It took a few trips to do it, but I have a pair of 25 pound weights and a pair of 30s as well. Now to start adding them to my routine.
I'm getting better at work. Wrote out a performance review and am due a discussion. I don't think I'm great great but I do at least appreciate how nice folks are here so if I turn out to be doing below average I think I'm okay with pushing myself to find ways to work better. It can't be worse than getting bad reviews and being paid much less for it, that's for sure.
Okay, so maybe I do have things to write about after all though I feel like it's pretty mundane. No big results, not big reveals, just anticipation and self-loathing, hah. Kudos to those of you that can convince yourselves to post on the regular.
