Jun. 2nd, 2022 01:09 pmSo I've been using Counter Social now since the Twitter deal with Elon came around. It's been an interesting environment. Lots of people who moved there that hate Elon, obviously, but the community is small enough that people can just read rando stuff and find things they like. It's a lot more chill as a result despite all the politics which I try to avoid but I can't like a fat kid (e.g. me) around an open bag of chips.
Despite that, stress is down still. Work comes and goes and I'm coasting along, hopefully making the company better.
Michelle got forced to attend a college reunion and one of her old friends doesn't want to take a long trip, so she's staying over for tonight. It's kind of crazy, we haven't had visitors here ever since. We're going to have to make sure things are clean enough. Also important: I'm going to have to walk around like I'm outside. Ah well.
Campaign IS OVER
The campaign is done. The party finally reached a point where almost all the old characters are gone and I think everyone else is along for the ride instead of looking for stories to resolve, so I concluded everything. It's strangely relieving: I used to put effort into this since like... 2018 I think, maybe even earlier? It's crazy thinking about how much time passed.
It's nice because I don't have a big obligation to work on anymore, but it feels like I have a big gap in free time now and I'm still adjusting. More importantly, I should probably look into doing more creative things. It felt like a side hustle, one that I wasn't even sure I was doing well at at this point. I'm glad it finally concluded. That, and most of the people involved in the game didn't seem to understand the complexity of the plot. Sigh.
Anyway, new campaign is by one of the players' wife-to-be. I wanted to have free time again (maybe I should be careful what I wish for) so just wanted to observe, maybe pick up on a few things to learn.
I do still have a Dungeon World game that I'm attending tonight as well so there's that.
Crafting
So, uh, I love Detroiters and out of fun, I wanted to make a joke shirt based on something from the series. I was going to have it made by a shirt maker online but then Michelle reminded me she could make it with a Cricut so she did. It's smaller than I expected, but it's still pretty neat that it came out so clean.
But yeah, I think I need more clues that it's a Detroiters joke because I don't think people will get it.

Finally cleared up the room enough to set up a studio setup here. I just need to remind myself to set up some subjects. I don't think I'm the most photoworthy subject and it's kind of small for one person sessions.
