Quiet day, but I've been busy.

I think I have a special talent at choosing the oldest oranges at the supermarket. I know people love it when they're really sweet, but I need some tang in my fruit, personally.

As I have adapted to life with holes in my gums, I have found that my pain tolerance must be much better than most people as I have yet to really use pills after the first day or so. I stopped using the gauze after the second day and while I still feel a bit of the iron-flavored sensation of exposed flesh, I think it's minimal enough for it to be fine. Swishing with saltwater provides an interesting rush.

I think there's a tooth fragment on my upper line that is trying to creep out. It'll be interesting to harvest that when it comes out.

So the walls in the apartment were thinner than we thought. I guess I can't be that surprised; building made in the 70's and all. Our neighbor told us about how noisy we can get late at night and we tried to quiet it down but she's still hearing things, so we decided to take it to another level and install some soundproofing for the walls facing our neighbors.

I ordered some soundproof sheets that should be coming in today. According to the site I bought them from, they're used for drum rooms, so I'm hopeful it'll cut out a lot of noise.

On top of that, Michelle ordered some blackout curtains and rods, which normally cut the decibels by 30 or so points.

We'll make a big project out of this once all the parts come in. Although the sheets can't guarantee to cover everything, it should make the noise problem a lot more bearable to the point where we can hopefully talk normally.

I am curious if she is hearing something from their other neighbors though; she reported hearing video games, and I don't really recall playing games back then. No matter, better safe than sorry.

I also might need to add a reinforcement bar to the curtain, probably will at the third points with some anchors and a bar or two. The pads are going to be around five pounds each, so with the blackout curtains (another couple of pounds), it'll be a safer option.

All I know though is that I'm taking the pads with us when we move out, they were not cheap, but the whole setup in general isn't. Michelle's a little fatigued about our spending. Speaking of which...

Spending
So I returned this copper pot Michelle's grandmother got us because I don't use copper and I'm not going to tempt us into deep frying despite how much I want to.

We got the credit, but then a new dilemma came: I had no idea what to spend it on.

I'm good for clothes. The kitchen is already pretty well-stocked (better than ever in fact). We don't need pillows and the sheets they have are all meh.

So we ended up using one of those touchscreen kiosks that you would think were amazing and fun until you used it and had to finger-punch your orders through and found myself a sieve (going to use it for ramen noodles) and a bowl shield for the Kitchenaid.

So yeah, the bowl shield didn't fit.

Spending(again)
Searching again... At one point I'm going crazy because I can't even find an oven pad (seriously, you sell bakeware but you don't have a single heat absorbing item?) and just gave up and gave the credit to Michelle. She bought some clothes and other things that I'm sure she could make much better use out of.

Cooking
Made a burger bowl. This translates to "I have burgers but no buns."

I think the one thing I enjoy about burgers is that I usually make gravy out of the drippings. Something about that just feels so efficient that I enjoy doing it. Plus, got to use the torch to maillard effect the hell out of those patties. Garnish with slivers of jalapeno and onion slices, some kimchi on the side and some pickled green beans and there you go.

Television
Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond and nothing short of a new reveal will stop me from thinking that.

That is all.
