I made a poll and it's not political at all!

Coming soon: endless trolls going after me.

Good morning, fellow arctic explorers. You may notice your weather app telling you it's -12 outside. Don't worry, it's only -10, with zero wind chill unlike last night where you felt a light breeze shiv through the layers over your legs.

So, last night we left work a little earlier than usual to catch that Star Wars movie and... it's sold out. Yes, really. A week-old Star Wars film in an arthouse is still too popular to watch normally. Oh well!

We aren't going today because Michelle's worried about making sure she has enough hours to make the pay period's 80.

Aside from that, it's relatively quiet.

This weekend will be me working on things.

Cooking
During last night's attempt to make casserole, I splashed a block of butter into some hot oil and spilled a decent amount of oil on my forearm. Oh, the heat. A few blisters now pock my arm and I'm typing this with a crude bandage made of aloe-soaked paper towel wrapped with another paper towel that is taped together.

At least the casserole tastes good!

For New Years, I'm probably going to double up on some food ideas: Korean tradition normally celebrates the New Year with a soup, and I'm curious about making Hoppin' John, which is another New Year's food. Note to self: green onions.

Television
Dirk Gently is done? I loved the series, way back since I was in fourth grade writing a book report about The Long Dark Tea-Time of The Soul and laughing my butt off at all the silliness from the I.Ching calculator to the endless abuse of Dirk's nose.

I finished up season 2 and it seemed like they pretty much finished up a lot of loose ends with a little room to open up, but I'd like to see how it would have played off. Plus, I've always been a fan of the franchise in general.

We caught up on The Good Place, which is amazing. The ads for it did the show no justice as it's amazingly well-written and still managed to keep me interested despite a season 1 conclusion that made me think there was nowhere left to go with it. Thankfully that one's still around (for now).

Michelle's caught up on Outlander.

I'm watching Boruto because I think I have Naruto stockholm syndrome and I think I like keeping up with it the same way Potterheads enjoy that play where the kids of Harry and that annoying Aryan kid become fast friends.

Yes, you're welcome to hammer me for forgetting this one, I feel guilty for forgetting that too.

No clue on weekend plans. I'd be happy to be outside doing some hiking, but it's -10 so I don't see myself convincing Michelle very well.

Podcasts
Also, listening to Sporkful right now. Still delivering so much, now they're talking about the food culture of Star Wars. So good.

Still need to work on photos.

So I guess I wish I had a four day weekend since I think I'll be busy and just want to stay (mostly) home. At least I slept decently enough last night!
