Still sick. Spent yesterday holding back my stomach contents. Not a big deal yet. I slept for a long time for the first time in awhile and while I'm not really in my best condition to handle work.

So yesterday we spent at home with one trip out to get groceries (because Wednesdays is "meat day" for us!) and to replace a wireless adapter that I picked up awhile back that has gone to hell after a year of power outages shorting it out. To be honest, I never was a big fan of it either as Netgear has been somewhat unreliable for me.

So I went from a bendy USB adapter to a single ASUS nub. You know what I mean, right? Those really tiny plug-style adapters. I love those things just for being so damn unobtrusive.

I also saw a Blue Yeti mic up for sale. I was tempted for one because the Zoom is too wide an area even when closed together. To put it in perspective: the thing's so sensitive that I could hear myself farting and it wasn't even a loud one. That's a bit too much for me. I saw on B&H that it

The Yeti is a drastic improvement. It doesn't have the problems that my analog TinyMike has and it doesn't catch everything like the Zoom. As far as I'm concerned, it's a perfect balance and has a bunch of other features that I don't think I'll ever be using but is nice to have. Plus, I do appreciate its robust size.

About this point, I started to physically break down. I woke up with a nasty dry throat and I try to keep sleeping until I'm sneezing with blankets on me. Lucky me. After returning home, I eat soup. This is the first time all day I'm eating anything because I feel nauseous. It holds and the warmth is welcome but it soon starts wanting to leave my system and I clamp my throat down.

I try making congee as well. Congee holds up.

The Yeti's box is busted, but the mic is fine.

The grocery trip included a bottle of Nyquil, 30mL of which enters my body after this.

Before I know it, I can feel my body go into a decline. I try to help Michelle as she builds this IKEA table that we had shipped in and it's a struggle just to use a screwdriver.

I sleep in at 11. I would have done earlier if I could. I wake up and I'm still really tired, but at least I'm not sneezing.

Two meetings. Technically three, but I missed one of them because of time conflicts. The all-staff that discusses the company's need to downsize. Then the account meeting. All quiet afterwards. I think people realize I'm sick as a dog partly because I didn't even bother dressing properly.

One packet of Emergen-C in my gullet in case it does something. At this point, placebo effects are welcome.

Just finished doing most of my work, though something just came in too. One of the people who works on one of the accounts I'm on is on the cut list for downsizing, so things are guaranteed to get a little messy in the coming weeks.

Okay, enough of this, gotta go back to work but before I do:

Ajit Pai is a failed troll.

That is all.
