Face of the City NYC
Feb. 22nd, 2010 01:04 pmAnkle is sore. Not digging it. Hoping I can walk it off, but I worry that it feels this sore because I was walking so much.
Pentax is planning to release a 645D system. Medium format. Price estimate is $6k. Yes, I actually am considering it. 40megapixels on a full-frame square sounds really appealing, especially as a piece of studio equipment. I just need a proper excuse for having it.
Back to work on Flash! I've gotten some ideas running along and I have the images set that I would like to use.
Cinema
Yes, for the first time in awhile I caught movies. Ticked that I missed District 13, but I caught Percy Jackson & Crazy Heart.
Crazy Heart was worth seeing. People related it with The Wrestler all the time, but there's a different level of emphasis here. Whereas Mickey Rourke's character was sort of a sad creature slowly acknowledging his current situation, Jeff Bridges is a lone wolf who has kind of acknowledged how much he's messed up in. Both are sad sacks in life, but Jeff Bridges is still acknowledged as having a lot of potential left in an industry that lives off the emotion of songwriters. It's a beautiful film, and I have to admit that I loved the music.
Percy Jackson was... I guess it was a film aimed at teens, but then I saw them drinking alcohol and I'm just confused. The effects were only okay by today's standards and the acting was iffy at best. I'd give it a pass.
Camping this weekend! WOO HOO!!
