zesty_pinto: (Clown & Baby)

Inspection of the home tank brought some welcome surprises. A ringlet plec that I planned on sending to someone but ended up escaping is still living happily in the tank. In fact, he cleaned out the only clean glass part of this damn tank. Also saw the kuhli peep at me while I was inspecting the diffuser. Apparently, the conditions aren't totally shot.

Red plants are still a faded red. It's not a full dark red, but I heard red rotala actually should be that sort of pink champagne tone. I'm not using it as an excuse to say it's all all right, though, because the rest of the plant is not red. CO2 is still going strong as well and even had to replenish the yeast tank; it's still working on the sugar; this is the best sign! Maybe things won't blow up in my face this time!

Also need to find a home for two false algae eaters. They're very cute and definitely hang right with the loaches, but three in a tank often lead to three unruly disputes. Thank goodness an LFS I've got around here that I trust is coming back. Maybe they can find a use for two cute belly-lounging carp.

This entry was also supposed to be posted back on Friday before I went camping. My excursion found two lake species that I brought back with me from a half-frozen lake that I want to see how it'll handle.
