dtfan579 has a very disturbing article on a new law that prevents husbands in India from strangling their wives over a burnt dinner*.

Articles like these always jar me back to reality about how some things are outside of the states (although I'm sure there are some men over here that follow this same act). While I also know laws can be used against people, I also know that comparing dowry abuse with strangling someone is kind of like comparing John Wayne Gacy with Kenneth Lay.

*Yes, the most extreme case, but the fact that it can get that far scares me.
