I complain about shows going away, but just saw two new animated series and I like them a lot.

Central Park: okay, I'm not a big musical guy, but it deserved the hype. It took me awhile to feel comfortable hearing Titus Burgess play a very subdued character compared to his flamboyant role in Kimmy Schmidt, but everything else clicks really well and the range of music works surprisingly well. I also am aware of Kristen Bell's situation and I don't disagree that was a weird fit (I originally thought she played the mom). She'll definitely find a new role since the series was designed with her in mind, I just have no idea how Loren Bouchard is going to get away with a season 2 that gives the same emphasis to her old character.

Close Enough: I love it. It's Regular Show but with a young couple. JG Quintel is basically reflecting everything about millennial parenting in a world that doesn't seem to fit the lifestyle two creative kids from an upper middle class upbringing would expect to grow up into and try to make it work between the outlandish grotesque fixation on the mundane. I like to think of it in the same category as I'm Sorry (which if you have not seen, please do, it's an excellently written series). There are many favorite scenes, but one that really hits home is when their kid goes off to a sleepover and they celebrate a night without the kid by twerking to their taxes. Also, some of the staple characters in the series include Danielle Brooks and Jason Mantzoukas. Tastee and Raffi are two of my all-times, so yeah, going to be prejudiced about liking this show.
