The Obligatory Reminder to Post Something
Jan. 17th, 2019 01:01 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I should be putting up a new post. It's been long enough. Thanks to all you new and old folks talking about your lives and the neato things you're doing, it gives me an excuse to keep active despite not having much to say (now watch as I prove myself wrong with another long spaghetti string of my life in 3... 2... 1...)
I left a peanut out for my little squirrely model as payment for services rendered. Then another once the previous one was gone. Then I looked into it and realized I was poisoning my little squirrely friend! I haven't seen him around for awhile, but I'm hoping that it's one nut means that it didn't hurt him too much. In repentance, I left a piece of cheese out. If it attracts a rat capable of climbing to the second story in really cold weather or the like, then such is life, but that should hopefully give enough energy to feed the little one and make up for all the awful things I gave them before.
Of course, there's the fact that I may have also let the wind sweep away the nuts too.
I don't know how to nature properly, people, just lock me up already. -_-
So anyway the first week without Michelle working has been a lot less stressful for her even despite how she's not driving home. She hangs out and goes to different places as I do the trash and seems a lot less stressed out. I worry that it might affect her weight, but I am happy about the stress and how I am now the one that determines when we get home so I am incentivized to finish work faster compared to before when I just sat around when I was done until 10:30 or so.
Our Tuesday at home felt like a full day because of how used we are to making use of a day efficiently. We cleaned the kitchen which was in long need of a cleaning. Apparently in the months since we last did this there was a mouse party as we found a LOT of mouse poo under the stovetop. As we broke out the vacuums and squeegees, I tried out my best Mickey impersonation as I thanked her for the invite to the house while she uncomfortably shifted around thinking about the mouse party because I'm a jerk and this amuses me more than it should.
We haven't seen any mouse poo on the counters or anything since Thanksgiving, so I think the repellent has been doing its job, but we'll get to clearing the poo from the drawers and shelves from the bottle cabinet this weekend.
Speaking of this weekend, we're scheduled to be in the brunt of the storm in the next few days! Yay?
So some backstory: back when we didn't have a second job, we sometimes went to Shaws on Wednesday nights because I would need some ingredient or another. When I went there one day, they had a great deal on a TON of meat they were ready to dump so ever since, me and Michelle would try to see if Wednesday was when they got rid of the meat ready to expire and we'd call it "meat day."
The reason I mention that is because tonight we're going to try to bring it back. We can't do it on Wednesday because of work and the Shaws we went to isn't a very large one so has a limited selection, but it was a social thing we did that we had fun doing so we're looking forward to that.
Oh, I'll also mention that Michelle switched to T-Mobile because they promised to update the infrastructure in the state. Turns out the switch was in vain as the coverage is much worse for us compared to Verizon. I just saw the article and Michelle just made the update a week or two ago. Sigh.
Gaming tonight; I need to make more footnotes for myself.
I've been still pushing myself on the cooldown. I want to relax while doing my chores, but I have yet to feel restless since there's always something to do. Our attempts to also catch up with television has us adding more stuff to it instead: I'm watching Flight of The Conchords for the first time and I'm constantly enjoying it with each episode. The more you watch it, the more it becomes very apparent why Kristen Schaal became such a valuable commodity in the decade since that show came out since she's that essential third wheel that really pushes out the abstract from an already fairly wacky idea.
Also, so many comedians in it that are now in the mainstream. I saw a racism episode with a then-unknown Aziz Ansari in it. My jaw dropped.
Speaking of comedy too, I've been so fixated on Behind The Bastards and Dumb People Town that I'm now sticking to cycling through My Favorite Murder to catch up.
Okay, back to work!
