LOL! Dude, that is hysterical. My roommate is Nigerian, and she loves talking about those spammers. And, of course the state of the country isn't all that great, (every country has its problems) but i don't understand why and how these things got started. I have to tell my roommate about this convo.

Too true. Maybe some of these other deficit-tainted countries send their rejects to Nigeria or... or something! I remember Argentina being in some fairly dire straits too, but I never got accosted like this (I'm surprised enough that the Secret Service is actually recommending that you contact them if you got scammed).

Maybe Nigerians in general are big on comp sci? x_x

why couldn't she just sell her computer? and stop paying the internet connection. (unless her university has computers. in which case what i suggested wouldn't work.) i wonder what the success rate is for a scam like the above. that was a failure that took 2 hours. surely ordinary email spamming is more economic...
