I am in Looooooove

Deus Ex 2 comes out in December and the more I look at the trailer available here the more I go nutsy from it. This game just has so much promise and I want it right now like a dog in heat. Er... not in a sexual way though, because that's just really damn gross.

Anyway, I know what I'm going to be spending my winter break doing. :D So why the @#$%)* doesn't Thanksgiving or Christmas come around yet?! >_<

I'll be working on part five of that Mandrashard writing project of mine in the meantime, I guess. Waaah, Deus Ex 2...!

By the way, this song is so addictive. I ended up writing that practice piece while listening to this song repeatedly, riding on the emotion of the song solely and whatever images could carry me through them. Freaky, huh?

I just got Dx1 the other week. I'm up to escaping from Maj-12.

Have fun with the plasma cannon! (slight spoiler, but you more or less will very likely find it anyway)

I just got it. I spent a multitool getting it out before finding the passcode, but I have the max number of tools anyway from the armoury.

The plasma is so damn heavy! Plus it takes up too much inventory slot space. I'm leaving it behin I think.

To be honest, I didn't like it much either. You can break doors with the same level of toughness with a shotgun full of solid slug. The only advantage was that it was the only heavy weapon that gave you a decent amount of ammunition and range (unless you found a way to use that damned flamethrower. The stupid thing refused to be useful for me!)

My problem is inventory space! I've finally taken the decision to ditch the crowbar for the baton: I can use it to open boxes, and the damage rate is slightly higher.
Then the prod, both pistols, mini crossbow, binoculars, picks & tools, sniper rifle, the machine gun type thingy (assault rifle?), all 4 types of grenade, and there's not much space left.

YEesh, quite a haul. I used to keep prod, bow, picks, tools, rifle, sawed-off, pepper spray (I think), LEMs, gas grenades, GEP, and (special toy you find later). Baton's great just because you can knock people unconscious; if you get a high enough melee, you can save prod charges by using just one prod and then a baton on the back to knock them silly. I liked to be nonviolent when possible. The inventory issue was probably just put in to make more replayability. Hell, if I was good enough, I'd try to replay the game again with napalm, assault rifle, and a plasma cannon. Throwing knives too (if I could actually *find* enough of them for once).

Also, a fun fact that I didn't find out until someone told me: men in black can be looted if knocked unconscious. Freaky, huh?

The trick with the prod is to get VERY close. Unlike RtCW, you can "bump" into the back of a guy without alerting him. If you're right behind them, a single prod knocks them to the ground.
And yeah, in the nanotech lab of Mj12, I crept up behind the MiB in his chair, knockd him out and looted him! Yay!

I think you can reclaim knives after you use them. I've certainly done that with darts - pick the ones that missed out of walls, and sometimes they are in bodies.

Knives can be recovered, but the ratio of recovery for me is 50-70%. I only know two locations in the game where to get throwing knives too, so it can get frustrating fast. Still, if I could get more, I'd definitely consider it a superior weapon from the pistol since it's silent as well as has an extremely high rate of fire and can do more damage when maxed out in the melee skill.

Drat. I think I may have left them behind outside the NSF warehouse in the previous mission.
