I was looking up something called "American Girl" dolls since I am utterly obscure to these new fangled toys. I was interested because it somehow got related with VH1's "I Love Toys" marathon.

One of the links I found, however, included an article on conservative Christians shunning this toy because it had to do with a group that had been known to be pro-abortion?

delennamachoo, I'm surprised you didn't talk about this one. Or did you? I can't tell, this all looks wacky to me.

I think your side note hits it on the head, that if they equate it with murder, they can just write it off as a sin without even thinking about its implications. Their refusal to take any sort of a middle ground even when rape and incest is concerned puts them squarely in the extremist category.

South Dakota's law makes my head explode. It also makes me want to open a clinic with bus service on the SoDak/Minn border. If only I had some capital.

One good thing about their law is that it was similar exclusionary language that helped strike down the abortion laws in the first place. Of course, there was more to it, but that did seem to play a part. Based on what I've been reading about some of the decisions involved in the original Roe v. Wade, I'm hoping SD's attempt to strike down Roe v. Wade will actually reaffirm it.

I had a big argument with unhappy results during which a former friend compared being gay to choosing to eat chocolate cookies. Roe v. Wade came up in the fight, and I decided it was time I do some research. I really wanted some idea of the potential for its demise. I AM PREPARED. ;)
