Pumpkin Checkin'

So it's been two weeks since Halloween, so why not some photos from three weeks ago?

The Bronx Zoo membership fliers kept telling me there is a 50% discount for members so we figured why not? I did another test with the fisheye and went in. Not a lot of photos this time.

I'll add that there aren't that many photos for that reason. It's too dark and too crowded for the rat. I did in this process learn more about how to mess with lens profiles. The lens this time is a Sony 16mm 2.8 which is decent but not really amazing. I have another second thought again and now I'm wondering if I should buy a new 14mm instead of a 24mm. I'll go into that later.

Anyway, .

These are fine for web size, but close up there's some sharpness weakness. This one is the best example.

So aside from this, there was trivia for prizes and food trucks, like real food trucks: brick pizza, ridiciulously portioned food, and so many kids. Which is honestly how it should be as the pumpkin path had many things that tried to appeal to kids: animated screens, face painting, interactive screens, etc.

Ironically it's a bit of a contrast between an art form that I think appeals more for adults and an attempt to find things to get kids to enjoy the trip since all of the exhibits are closed and are on a path that's closed during the day. For 50 a head I don't think it's that adequate for maybe an hour of activity and even for 25 as a member I don't think I'd do this more than once despite the daily food truck rotations.

Anyway, I finished processing the photo card. There's one and a half things left.

You'll find out what's next as soon as The Rat tells us.

The ferry pics I saw just included one Rat photo. Anyway no, I don't have much of a preference I don't think, I like seeing people's photos.

Huh they make creepy fucked up pumpkins for Halloween as well? Cool of them to continue taking advantage of that area to make other festival towns during the year. $5 says that they have some sort of elaborate light display going on as one of their main attractions. If I was in charge of a Christmas festivity I would probably just use that as an excuse to dress up as Santa and cause trouble tbqh, but I wouldn't even tell staff my plans I'd just do it.
