I didn't think it was going to be that good to be honest, as it centers on a subject that doesn't interest me at all, but the acting really does carry it. I can get why they hyped it, it's a nice little peek into the nitty-gritty of what professional wrestling is about and I think the cast combined with some of the outlandish manchild nature this concept seemed to have come from makes it work. I think if you like OITNB, you can tolerate a significant portion of this one (at the least, it's like starting into seasons 3-4 of the series when it's less about ethnic groups keeping in their circles and more about them interacting with "outsiders" just to progress a storyline).
Plus the lady who plays the Polynesian wrestler is just. so. likable! She's easily the Seth Rogen (a la Freaks and Geeks) of the lineup.
